Lawlor Events Center
Lawlor Events Center is a multi-purpose public assembly facility, which accommodates business and educational meetings, banquets, trade shows, exhibitions, as well as entertainment, athletic and sporting events. Academic and administrative units of the university, state and local governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, commercial promoters, and private individuals sponsor these events. Lawlor Events Center is operated in keeping with the university's goal of enhancing the public service capabilities of the university while providing and environment supportive if the quality of campus life. Lawlor recently completed a $1.5 million remodel that includes all meeting rooms and the upper concourse. Lawlor Events Center is now the premier, non-gaming, public assembly facility in Northern Nevada.

Market Information
Lawlor Events Center is located in the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. Access is easy: the facility is one mile from I-80, close to the downtown core of hotels. Reno metro is comprised of Reno, Sparks and Carson City, and has a population of more than a quarter million people. Lake Tahoe is approximately 45 minutes away. Major California markets are within a short drive. Reno is a tourist's destination, increasing Lawlor's program participation and audience potential.

What We Do
Lawlor Events Center is capable of hosting luncheons, dinners, business meetings and seminars for may different sized groups. In addition to the main arena which seats over twelve thousand people, the Lawlor complex consists of two large, beautifully remodeled meeting rooms. The Silver and Blue Room comfortably accommodates up to four hundred guests for a dinner function and many more for a stand-up reception. The President's Room can host up to one hundred persons for a dinner as well. If a more intimate feel is needed each room may be subdivided into two, three or four separate rooms with built-in moveable walls. This capability is also helpful in creating “breakout” rooms for smaller group discussions at workshops and conferences.

A recent innovation has been the use of the upper concourse for hosting catered events. It is a popular location for social groups such as alumni and boosters, especially when the Wolf Pack football team is playing at Mackay Stadium.

Lawlor Events Center and all its meeting rooms are handicap accessible with cutout curbs and accessible ramps that allow direct passage to the sidewalk and to the upper concourse. An elevator is available for access to the upper concourse as well.

Catering Services
When planning your event at Lawlor Events, Sodexho can provide you with outstanding services to compliment any occasion. Complete catering of the Lawlor facilities is provided by Sodexho. This partnership ensures 100 percent satisfaction for a successful event. Catering Affaire gives personalized service and will work with you to develop a customized menu. Whether your event requires an elaborate rehearsal reception, an intimate backstage dinner or a formal served dinner we can accommodate your needs. Our facilities can handle parties ranging from two people to one thousand guests. Our catering department will review all aspects of your event from the day and time of your arrival until the last guests depart. We also off auxiliary services such as welcome gift baskets for VIPs and consultations for theme events.

Backstage and dressing room catering requirements for major touring attractions are provided by Catering Affaire on an exclusive basis. The dining area for touring crews is usually set up in the Presidents meeting room, conveniently located near the Touring Production offices and stage area.

Full modified, host or no-host bar setup and operation is available with TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) trained staff and an On-site TIPS certified trainer to assure proper management of any alcohol service.

The Lawlor Events Center and Sodexho staffs serve as a resource for developing and producing events. The Lawlor support staff can handle all aspects of any function. Administrative support and logistical planning are provided to the sponsors of each event. Full technical, publicity, security, custodial, catering and ticketing services are at a sponsor's disposal to make each event a success.

Lawlor's professional staff includes a Director, Associate Director of Operations, Program Assistant/Event Coordinator, Ticket Office Manager, Guests Services Supervisor, Technical Services Supervisor, Custodial Services Supervisor and Maintenance Operations Supervisor.
